THE
FOUNDATION

The Writers of Les Chapelins Foundation supports writers from all over the world through our Away from The World program. Based in the South of France, this unique writing residency offers time and space to a small group of writers to live and work for two weeks surrounded by the immense beauty of the Luberon National Park.

Writers receive accommodation and full board at Villa Mon Plaisir, a grand 18th century farmhouse overlooking the Luberon Valley in the ancient hamlet of Les Chapelins, three kilometres from the medieval perched village of Bonnieux.

In the time afforded by the residency, writers of all genres will gather to pursue their creative work in a supportive communal setting. Dedicated individual working time is balanced with opportunities for connection and exchange.

The residency is designed upon longstanding traditions of retreat, the stepping back from ordinary life; in this case to give writers the opportunity for sustained work and to deepen their artistic practice. Les Chapelins Fellows are writers who have already made an important contribution to their field.

Fellowships are by invitation only, and recipients are selected by a Creative Advisory Group.
